Niko graduated from the University of Alberta in 2016 with Honours in a Bachelor of Physical Education in Kinesiology. In 2019 he graduated with a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta with Honours.
Niko’s interests lie in helping patients achieve their goals. He enjoys treating all walks of life with an emphasis on an active approach. Exercise therapy, manual therapy and IMS/Dry Needling are several tools that Niko uses. “These adjunctive treatments help create a change in the Nervous System, so that we have an opportunity to reintroduce functional usage and loading of the injured area again.” Niko has a special interest in ACL Reconstruction (a common knee injury that can require surgery) and helping individuals returning from a difficult surgery and long rehabilitation process.
Niko himself previously played Professional Soccer and Captained the University of Alberta men’s team. He knows what it means to a client when they express their needs to get back to doing what they love, as he has been in that same boat as a professional and student-athlete himself. He started out playing for F.C Edmonton of the NASL in 2010-2012, as well as the U-23 Vancouver Whitecaps 2012-2013. During his undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta, he played for Golden Bear’s men’s soccer team for all 5 years.
